The Decorating Continues

Ok, have you ever had the feeling you should never have started a certain project and just left well alone? This is how I'm beginning to feel about the decorating. I've taken all the wallpaper off and done one layer of white paint, which has made all the cracks and holes stand out massively. So now I have a huge job ahead of me filling them all in.

This is Alice, one of my Blythe dolls. I'm quite obsessed with these gorgeous girls. She is fed up with the amount of time I'm spending on the decorating as well.

It's been pointed out to me that I could give in and get wallpaper, but I'm not a quitter and really want it painted, so I'm going to plod along. Probably not going to get any done today as it's the last weekend before the girls go back to school and we also have a family birthday meal to fit in today and visitors tomorrow. Hopefully things will go faster once I don't have to keep children entertained 24/7.

So here's to time wasting and procrastinating! Hope you are all well.

Liverpool Love

Good evening,

Today I've been painting. I'm really not the best decorator in the world, so it's taking a while.

On another note, I'm really pleased to see that Liverpool has been voted the UK's friendliest city. I have lived in and around the city for the past decade and can truly say I love it and think of it as home now. My children were born here and are proud to be scousers.

Until next time.

DIY Here I Come

Hello,

Today's fun project (slight sarcasm should be used for the word 'fun'), was started yesterday when inspiration wouldn't hit for my planned writing. We have been living in our home for two years next week and so far haven't really done anything to it. One of my plans was to re-do the WC, so striping the wallpaper down is my first DIY action towards having the home I would love to live in.

It would appear the DIY bug is catching because J (who is off work this week) has gone upstairs and started on the bathroom. Quite excited about that because we haven't had a bath (don't worry we do have a shower - we don't stink!) since moving in. Chyna, our dog is looking worriedly at the ceiling wondering what all the noise from above is all about.

With the house in such a mess I thought I would show you a picture from the garden instead. This rose was just pleading to me photographed.

I have been looking at other people's blogs and there are such inspiring people out there doing so many amazing things. One thing I haven't worked out is how to search for blogs of interest. Anyway, I'm sure I'll work it out soon.

Hope you're all having a good day,

 Good morning all,

Well, today I am going to have a go at writing. Just putting ideas down that might one day be a story. You never know. I am still reading Wannabe a Writer by Jane Wenham-Jones. The problem with this book is that every chapter, in fact nearly every paragraph ends with me putting the book down to have a go at whatever this brilliant lady suggests next. Very inspiring, but makes for slow reading. From the slice I have read I would highly recommend this book to aspiring writers. Trust me, I have read many books on this subject, but have never got very far on the practical side.

Anyway, my best friend during writing, reading and pretty much everything in day-to-day life is my coffee. I am seriously addicted to the stuff and honestly trying to cut down. I get headaches if I don't have my morning coffee early enough. My children also know not to speak to me before I've had it if they want a positive reception.

So, there you have it, my plans for the day. Well, the plans that I want to talk about. In between these activities, there will be a good lot of tidying, cleaning, washing and ironing (well I keep telling myself I'll do that anyway). At some point I have to get us all ready to go to J's Mum's house. His sister is over here on holiday from Dubai and she goes back tomorrow, so we are having a little send off.

Anyway, hope you all have a lovely day. Still waiting for that first comment! Heehee Oh, and even if the comment is constructive criticism please go ahead and I will try to improve!

Well Hello!

Well hello everyone,

This may be a very dull and dreary opening to a blog. It is my first real stab at a personal log of any sort since, (what is now) a very embarrassing teenage diary. The A4 notepad that I wept over many a time between the ages of 14 and 17 was burnt in a ritual bonfire many moons ago. Some may think the destruction of personal history to be a bad thing. That some day I shall regret wiping out my teenage thoughts a feelings, but trust me I remember the sentences that matter and would rather that no one else ever does.

Anyway, I waffle, what would you like to know about me? It's very hard to know what should be written about on the Internet and what should be left behind closed doors, but here goes nothing. My name is Anna. I am currently 29 and mother to two gorgeous little girls. P is six. She is a little tomboy, very creative and always asking questions I don't have the answers to. S is four. She is a little princess, who loves pink and getting everybody's attention. I plan to marry their Dad J on the 28th December this year. Wedding plans in full swing. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan.

We all live near Liverpool, England and have a gorgeous dog, who is very much looking forward to the girls going back to school so that she can have a rest from them and more attention from me.

So, the next few months are going to be my first with both children in school. I have a wedding to plan, and more dramatically the rest of my life. I need and want a career. I have the issue that is has to fit around my children (they come first) and my partner's job, which involves long irregular hours and many trips away. Not an easy spot to fill, but I know many women do it, so I know that I will find something. I love to write, bake, read, knit (Oh wow I sound a lot older than I am!). I watch too much TV. Normally dramas and sitcoms. Currently watching Torchwood, Dr Who, Eureka, Warehouse 13 and Breaking Bad, Miranda, and True Blood. I watch most of these whilst ironing, which helps with the guilt!

I am currently reading Wannabe a Writer? by Jane Wenham-Jones. Hopefully that book should inspire a bit more imagination and inspiration towards my writing ambition.

I hope that someone reads this...anyone? If you do, please please leave a comment, even if it's just to acknowledge you've read it. I am new to this, but would rather not talk to myself!

I look forward to getting to know you all.

Anna
